EDUCATION SYSTEM FAILS IN ASIA - KNOW WHY?

THE FAILING EDUCATION SYSTEM IN ASIA

Educational topics have always outranked the top agenda of the world. In India, the history of education began in places like the Nalanda and Takshashila University long before the K-12 education system was introduced in Massachusetts. The contemporary education system in India is failing due to lack of reforms and any new nationwide policy.

I do agree with the fact that 5% of the schools in India render quality education and encourage co-curricular activities as well. But, we are at a phase where nobody can be left out. What about those government schools, where 50% of teachers are recruited by the reservation system and others with board class grades? The students who reside in villages fail to get quality education & that’s why the importance of education in rural areas is decreasing. Therefore, reservation in the education system is the biggest cause of why we are not able to fully utilize the potential in 600 million people, whom we designate youth.

For instance, the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) is given by almost a million students every year. Less than 1% of students qualify for it. And what do these students get in return? IITs, which do not rank even in the top 150 colleges of the world! Getting 499 out of 500 in board exams is not showcasing the talent but it's just another example of failing education system.  The students, who we call toppers, are just the victims of this failed education system. The entire definition of “excellence” is being misjudged. Today, it’s depressing that our education system focuses on board exams, limited knowledge through NCERT textbooks and rote memory. On the other hand, developed countries like UK, USA, and Finland focus on education that makes students think creatively and logically. Today, there is a high need for promoting education in every shift and bringing about reforms in this field, thus, giving all Indians a trustworthy and reliable future.
